(228)Osiris was one of the first five gods created at the beginning of the world. To the Egyptians, their country was the most blessed and perfect world. The Book of the Dead was Egyptians' inside guide to the underworld People already believed in the immortality of the soul and the survival of bodily death in the Predynastic Period in Egypt (c. 6000 - c. 3150 BCE) as evidenced by grave goods included in burials. If one's confession was found acceptable then the soul would present its heart to Osiris to be weighed in the golden scales against the white feather of truth.
