It started crumbling in 80s when after decades of marshall plan aid and big loans of USA to sustain Yu economy which was unsustainable and after party leaders made bad economical decisions like investing in failing companies whoose products didn't got sold(car yugo being the first one) US said screw you guys give us back our money you are not managing it well. Comparing Franjo Tu?man and Slobodan Miloševi? And you ARE leaving, aborting your babies, getting drunk, doing drugs and have sold off your entire country to Germany, the US and Western Bankers! We should all try to seek were did we as a nation go wrong and my personal thinking is that we all heard what we wanted to hear and that made us easy targets for outside black ops. Instead we got Serbs are not so guilty, everybody is guilty and a lot of let say superficial historic stories. ...but NONE of them actually lived in Yugoslavia at that time and the time before the war. It's just that they seem to shout the loudest. Everyone seems to be divided in one way or another.

We had higher salaries and standard of living then most of southern european countries- namely spain, greece, italy...these were cheap travel and shopping destinations for us. But a majority had to pay a big sum of money to be allowed out that not everyone could afford.What is true, however is that in the later years the authorities became more lenient on that front - and even that was most assuredly NOT done from the "goodness of theirs harts" ! we DONT WANT TO REMEMBER the bad times, but this goes beyond ANY resonable line! People hate America in Europe (for that matter everywhere) guess why?i lived there through the war, everyone in my family that stayed in Bosnia and Herzegovina fought for their lives. Hope will be proven wrong and that we will look at this period of 100 years as some stupid misunderstanding and be able to live in peaceif humanity is ever to evolve, we should step BACK to similar system like it was in yugoslavia, and only then, from that system, we should try to find a better one... the one completely different from capitalism!
