It took my breath away! I also love the very masculine and dark quality of Butler's voice even if he doesn't go as big as Lewis or Karimloo. Not a monster. Rossum is awesome vocally and acting is pretty good - she gets a little dazed and dreamy eyed too often, but that happens when you are under a spell of sorts, maybe cut some slack here.. Of the three, Boggess is the best Christine, followed by O'Byrne, then Rossum falls way behind. My 4 year old and 9 year old love this movie, which I was surprised because they typically do not like 'musicals'. Check this out for yourself, the music alone is worth your time.

The result is exquisite. Now I can hope for another re-buy to get a 4K/UHD version with Atmos (the Atmos being the critical concern).I can't believe Amazon still hasn't fixed this after years. It is interesting that the complex emotional story is almost entirely delivered in music and song, unlike some musicals where people talk a lot and then break into musical numbers. Nice extra features, with much from the various stage productions.
I love the movie because it shows us some of the phantoms past which of play is unable to do. His singing doesn’t even compare to the brilliance performed by other Phantoms, but it was pretty good. I watched it with my mother and she promptly adopted it. Reviews. .
