I love whenever Star Wars leans into horror. That isn't to say there's nothing to enjoy here as an adult fan, but that of the seven included tales, five telegraph their ending fairly clearly rather early on, and two of these are virtually spoiled simply by the nature of centering on preexisting characters (in these cases, the Grand Inquisitor, and Darth Vader). This one traces the darker side of the force and life in the galaxy far far away.I enjoyed this book slightly more than the previous Star Wars book by the same author that I read a while ago, Myths & Fables. I know some people weren’t impressed or say it’s just a kids Star Wars book but I disagree. There is something extremely beautiful about mundane objects being turned into iconic droids and characters that still shape “As this story was one of the last to be added, and due to approaching printing deadlines, I had to proceed with the illustration without knowing whom or what the main characters were. Mann was able to at least give some form of horror to the Star Wars franchise.

This was more fun of a read than I expected - perfect for a quick light read. On July 28th, get ready for Star Wars: Dark Legends!This book delivers six new and creepy galactic tales crafted by author George Mann and illustrated by artist Grant Griffin. What I did know was that this story took place on Exegol and was going to have a strong Dr. Frankenstein and Ygor vibe. Sometimes, it’s good to turn to the dark side. Start by marking “Star Wars Dark Legends” as Want to Read: As was the case with Myths and Fables, Dark Legends is more of dud than a success, however, I will be honest and say that I did like this collection at least a bit more that its predecessor.
