There's potential here, but only if the problems are fixed.Much of what makes the show confusing and tedious is the work of series creator and chief writer Jeff Buhler, who has introduced a lot of needless malarkey into what Martin created as a relatively straightforward narrative.Tense, scary sci-fi thriller reminiscent of genre classics.

Also, I'm all for stories taking their time, but when you're already doing so over an entire season I see no point in having scenes drag on with long stretches of nothing, particularly when those scenes have little to do with the plot. Being a Battlestar, SG, Expanse and GoT fan, I can't rate anything but 2 stars. Editing is a mess. Let it die as early and as inevitably as its entire cast.A solidly done saga that takes Martin's brand of nihilistic realism and applies it to the world of science fiction.Way too many overused tropes, and not nearly enough charm in this blend of science fiction and horror. Martin’s novel, Nightflyers is set in the future on the eve of Earth’s destruction. The showers on board are actually giant tubes that's completely immerse the person in water while the person in it breaths through a mask. The Expanse is an example of excellent SciFi and Nightflyers is not.
