first, the film does not state that the teacher's rather pathetic gropings are ok. neither is everyone ok with it. I have a feeling "Dakin: The more you read, though, the more you see that literature is actually about losers. TV Unkissed, unrejoicing, unconfessed, unembraced—it’s a turn of phrase that brings with it a sense of not sharing, being out if it, whether because of diffidence or shyness, but holding back, not being in the swim of it. I would rather be stabbed in the leg with a fork than sit through it again.

JimG i'm thinking of ending things Its just a shame Bennett chooses to convolute the story with redundant homoerotic musings on teacher/boy relationships, because there is a very poignant theme to the film that this overplay seeks to demerit.
