Argento was born to make his own version. This is definitely not the colourful sweeping Argento we all know and love. One positive thing I can say is that Asia Argento looks beautiful!First time viewing Argento's Phantom. Here’s what I found:Argento’s worst indulgences are still miles ahead of many other’s masterworks (truly). Gory remake of the Gaston Leroux classic story, only this time, the phantom is not disfigured, but a man who was raised by rats deep under the Paris Opera House. Well worth a read.…Amazing Stories (S02) Dark Skies (S01) Freddy's Nightmares (S01 - S02) Miami Vice (S01) Night Visions No One is Innocent…Audition Bay of Blood Bride of Frankenstein Cure Day of the Dead Dead Ringers Dracula Eyes without…for my keeping of tracks through the accumulations of a need-to-haveness & other sudden onset preoccupationsRanking the films from my favorite, Dario Argento <3 I bought it, not for the genius (which was lacking), but to see if the Italian version is worth the cost.
Gory remake of the Gaston Leroux classic story, only this time, the phantom is not disfigured, but a man who was raised by rats deep under the Paris Opera House. David Cronenberg’s remake of The Fly), or even gross in a way that’s fun/cool (i.e. If you are not a Julian Sands…Lots of naked flesh and gore, and dirt and dust for a realistic atmosphere and mood of the time. Well I’m glad you asked.

Luckily it did not take too long for me to realise I did have the right disc in and it was very much the former, however the obvious Argento markers were not in all the right places but I was happy to go with the ride nonetheless. Fucking gross For people who like the Phantom of the Opera but thought it could use more rats and less masks. Die obligatorischen Horroreinlagen enttäuschen im Vergleich fast etwas.Dario Argento, one of the greatest horror directors of all time, tackles the Phantom of the Opera, one of the most famous horror icons of all time. opera-house, opera-singer, obsession, organ [musical instrument], rat [animal], theater, murder, terror, understudy, exterminator, jealousy Though the ridiculous CGI and daft casting situate the film squarely in Argento's silly/kitschy era (which started with Trauma, even though people are trying to reclaim The Stendhal Syndrome), his respect for the source material keeps him surprisingly literal-minded in the scenes that count, an offputting combination that I imagine accounts for much of the scorn the movie has reaped. Related To Off the top -the menu was simple and the music is excellent. Watch without any historical baggage. Related To A condução narrativa parece clássica, mas a estrutura grita dialéticas e ritmos diferenciados, nada é pequeno, tudo é muito maior do que pode ser.I have no familiarity with the source material or any of its other adaptations, but as manifested here it's uncannily of a piece with many of Argento's greatest hits: woman in a space of high art stumbles upon and is transformed by the violent elemental undercurrents lurking beneath that space.
