It's pretentious, uninvolving, boring, and downright terrible. Katrina Skinner is stuck in suburbia with her toddler daughter and her devoted dad. Set in Newcastle, 19-year-old Katrina's world of youth culture, crime, sex and suburban mayhem, this film tells the story of a girl without a conscience, a world without morals. Her brother Danny is in jail for life for murder.

I think that in this day and age it is very sad that for whatever reason women are still being perceived in such light on screen. This accidental, chance occurrence sets in motion a chain of events that sees the two strangers ... Few films will have you come away feeling as sick as I did from Suburban Mayhem, a putrid and quite vile film about despicable people doing despicable things to one another for the sake of daft entertainment. The characters in this film were unlikable and had little room for development.
Nobody can control her but everybody's trying. All she needs to do now is convince one of her lovers to do the deed and she's never had much trouble getting men to do what she wants. Certainly the heroine of Paul Goldman's film, Katrina, is a creature beloved of the tabloids; a 19-year-old femme fatale in a mini-skirt and black leather boots whose mobile is tucked, teasingly, into her cleavage. It sees a family destroyed and a daughter get away with murder. I would encourage you to see the film - the script is really engaging and the mock-documentary style used through parts of the film gives it a really interesting edge.
